2001 India

Many times Gary was called over to India for his work when he worked at Celetron. In fact, he was in India when 9/11 happened. He will have to add the commentary on this page because I wasn't there.




The road from the guest house to the factory in Bombay is jammed with cars and lined on both sides with ramshakle housing.


This is a typical morning in that area of town.


As you get closer to downtown Bombay, the buildings are much nicer. Ones like this are left over from the days when Bombay was a British colony.


Diwali is a holiday in India that roughly corresponds to new year's eve in the US. It occurs in the spring and is celebrated by setting off lots of fireworks. Myself and a few engineers pitched in about RM400 (US $70) and had enough fireworks to last for hours.
